Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
1. Who We Are
This policy explains how 1ClickStart collects and uses personal information when you use 1clickstart.com. We are the data controller for the information described here, which means we decide why and how your information is used, and we are responsible for it.
We have written this in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody. If anything below is unclear, email us and ask.
2. What We Collect
We only collect information you type into a form on our site, plus a small amount of technical information your browser sends automatically. We do not buy personal information about you from anyone else.
When you fill in a form (our contact form, the email popup, the quiz, or a lead form), we collect the fields on that form. Depending on which one you use, that can include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- What type of business you run
- How big your team is
- The challenge you are trying to solve
- How much time you say you are losing to manual work
- How ready you say you are to start
- Any message you write to us
Not every form asks for all of this. The email popup only asks for your email address.
Automatically, when you submit a form, we also receive your browser's user agent string, which is the text your browser sends identifying itself and your operating system, the referring page you came from, and your IP address.
About your IP address. We use it only to stop the same computer from submitting our forms dozens of times in a row. We hold it in temporary memory for 60 seconds and then it is gone. We do not write your IP address to our database and we do not use it to identify you.
We also work out some information about you. After you complete the quiz, our system calculates an estimated savings figure and an internal priority rating from your answers. Section 5 explains this in full, because you should know about anything we work out about you.
We do not collect payment details, government ID numbers, health information, or anything about your race, religion, politics, or sexuality. Please do not send us any of that in a form message.
3. Whether You Have To Give Us This
No. Every field on every form on our site is voluntary. No law and no contract requires you to give us any of it. The only consequence of not filling something in is practical: if you do not give us an email address, we cannot reply to you. If you skip the quiz questions, we cannot give you an estimate. That is the whole of it. Nothing bad happens to you and you keep every right described in this policy either way.
4. Why We Use Your Information
Here is every purpose, and the reason we are allowed to do it.
- To reply to your enquiry. You contacted us wanting a reply, so replying is what you expect and want.
- To prepare and send you a proposal or quote. You asked about working with us, so we can take reasonable steps to respond.
- To estimate your savings and set a priority rating. To give you a useful estimate and to help our small team decide who to contact first. See Section 5, including how to tell us to stop.
- To send you emails about our services. We rely on our legitimate interest in marketing our business to other businesses. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can tell us to stop at any time with no reason given. See Section 9.
- To stop repeated automated form submissions. We have an interest in our forms not being flooded with spam.
- To understand which pages people find useful. To run our business sensibly and improve the site.
We will not use your information for a new purpose that is not on this list without telling you first.
5. The Estimate And Priority Rating We Work Out About You
We want to be straight with you about this, because it is the one thing we do that you would not otherwise know about.
What happens. When you complete our quiz, our system automatically works out two things from your answers: an estimated savings figure, which is a rough number for how much time automation might save your business, and an internal priority rating of high, medium, or low.
How it works. There is no mystery to it. The system scores the answers you gave us: what type of business you run, how big your team is, how much time you told us you are losing to manual work, and how ready you said you are to start. Businesses that say they are losing more time and are readier to start score higher. That is the whole logic. A person did not look at your answers before the score was calculated.
What it actually means for you. The priority rating decides one thing only: the order in which our small team gets in touch. A high rating means we are likely to contact you sooner. A low rating means we may contact you later, or not at all. That is the full extent of it.
It does not affect the price we quote you. It does not decide whether you can buy from us. It does not stop you accessing anything on our site. If you want to talk to us, email us and you will get the same conversation regardless of what any rating says. We will not start setting prices or refusing service based on this rating, and if that ever changes we will update this policy and tell you before it happens.
You can object, and we will stop. Because this rating helps us market to you, you can tell us to stop working it out. You do not need to give a reason and we do not get to argue. Email us and say you object to profiling. We will stop scoring you and delete any rating we already hold.
You can see your own. If you want to know what estimate and rating we hold for you, ask us and we will tell you. It is your information.
6. Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not trade it or rent it out. Nobody pays us for your data.
We do use a small number of outside companies to run our business. Here they are by name, so you can look them up:
- Supabase stores our database. It holds everything you submit through a form.
- Vercel hosts our website and provides our visitor analytics. Their analytics does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
- n8n runs our internal automations. We host this ourselves on our own infrastructure. It receives everything you submit, plus your browser's user agent and the page you came from.
- Calendly runs our booking calendar. It receives your name and email if you book a call. See Section 10 about their cookies.
- Instantly sends our outreach emails. It receives your name, email, and business details if you are on our outreach list.
We will update this list if it changes. If you want to know exactly what one of them holds about you, ask us.
The only other times we would share anything are if the law or a court makes us, to establish or defend a legal claim, or if we ever sold the business, in which case the buyer would be bound by this policy and we would tell you first. That is the complete list. There is no other category.
Where your information goes. Some of these companies are based in the United States or store information on servers outside your country, so your information may be transferred internationally. If you want to know what safeguards apply to a particular company on this list, ask us and we will tell you what we know.
7. How Long We Keep It
We will be honest with you here rather than quote a number we do not yet enforce automatically.
Today we keep your enquiry for as long as it is useful for the purpose we collected it for, and we delete it when you ask us to. We are currently building automatic clear-outs, and when they are running we will update this section with the exact periods rather than describe them vaguely.
The criteria we use are simple. If you never become a customer, your enquiry stops being useful once it is clearly stale. If you become a customer, we have to keep business records for tax and accounting, and to defend any legal claim. If you unsubscribe or object, we keep a minimal record of just your email address and the date, permanently, because that is how we make sure we never contact you again by accident. Deleting that would defeat the point of it.
Your IP address is the exception with a hard limit: 60 seconds, in temporary memory, never written to our database.
8. Your Rights
These rights are free to use. You do not need a lawyer, you do not need a special form, and you do not need to give a reason for most of them.
To use any of them, email us at privacy@1clickstart.com and tell us what you want. A person reads that inbox and handles these by hand. We will reply within 30 days. We are being deliberately plain about this: there is no self-service button, it is a human doing it, and that is why it takes days rather than seconds. If that address ever bounces for you, use hello@1clickstart.com instead and it will reach the same person.
- See your information. Ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, including your estimate and priority rating.
- Fix it. If something we hold is wrong or incomplete, tell us and we will correct it.
- Delete it. Ask us to erase your information. We will, unless we have to keep it by law, such as accounting records, or to defend a legal claim. If we cannot delete something, we will tell you exactly what and exactly why.
- Pause it. Ask us to stop using your information while we sort out a dispute about it.
- Take it with you. Ask for your information in a common machine-readable file, such as CSV or JSON, to keep or give to someone else.
- Object. Object to us using your information where we rely on our legitimate interests.
- Object to marketing and profiling. This one is absolute. Tell us to stop marketing to you, or to stop working out a rating about you, and we stop. No conditions, no arguments, no reason needed.
- No retaliation. We will never charge you more, give you a worse service, or refuse to work with you because you used a privacy right.
Proving who you are. We may need to check you are who you say you are before handing over information, so we are not giving your data to someone else. We will ask for the minimum needed, usually just a reply from the email address we hold. We will not demand ID documents for a routine request.
If you are unhappy with us, please tell us first. We would rather fix it. But depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator, and you can do that instead of, or as well as, talking to us. Complaining to a regulator is free. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In the EU it is your national data protection authority, listed at edpb.europa.eu.
9. Cookies
We have tried to keep this simple, because most cookie notices are not.
Our website does not set any advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, we do not use a Facebook pixel, and we do not have any advertising trackers on this site.
Our visitor analytics does not use cookies at all. We use Vercel Analytics to see which pages people visit. It is cookieless by design. It does not put anything on your device, it does not follow you to other websites, and it does not identify you as an individual. It tells us that a page was viewed, not who viewed it.
There is one exception, and it is on our booking page. Our booking calendar is provided by Calendly, and Calendly's tool sets its own cookies when it loads.
Because of that, we do not load it until you tell us to. When you go to our booking page you will see a placeholder where the calendar would be, with a button to load it. Nothing from Calendly reaches your device until you click that button. If you never click it, Calendly never sets a cookie on your device.
If you would rather not use Calendly at all, you do not have to. Email us and we will arrange a time with you directly. Same call, same price. Calendly's own privacy policy explains what their cookies do at calendly.com/privacy.
Turning cookies off. Your browser can block or delete cookies in its settings. Because the only cookies on our site come from a tool you have to actively load, blocking them will not break anything here.
10. California Privacy Rights
This section is for people in California. We provide these rights as a matter of practice.
In the 12 months before the date at the top of this policy, we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers, meaning your name, email, phone and IP address; commercial information, meaning your business type, team size and interest in our services; internet activity, meaning your browser's user agent and the page you came from; and inferences, meaning the estimated savings figure and priority rating described in Section 5. We got all of it from you, or worked it out from what you gave us. We use it for the purposes in Section 4 and share it only with the service providers named in Section 6.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as California law defines it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the last 12 months. The companies in Section 6 are our service providers, under written terms that stop them using your information for their own purposes, which means our disclosures to them are not sales or sharing under California law. If that ever changes, we will add a clear "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link to every page of this site before we start.
Your California rights are to know, delete, and correct, plus the rights already listed in Section 8, which we give to everyone regardless of where they live. An authorised agent can make a request for you, and we will ask for proof that you gave them permission. To use any of them, email us at the address in Section 12.
11. Data Security
We would rather tell you what we actually do than claim a general standard. Traffic between your browser and our site is encrypted in transit. Our database sits behind access controls and is not publicly readable. Our forms are rate limited to block automated abuse. We are a small team and we are still building parts of this out, which is why Section 7 is honest about the clear-outs not being automatic yet. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
12. Contact Us
For anything about your privacy or your information, or to use any right in Section 8, email us. A person reads these inboxes.
Privacy and your rights: privacy@1clickstart.com
Anything else: hello@1clickstart.com
13. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
14. Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, and we will post the new version here with an updated date at the top. If we make a change that materially affects how we use your information, we will email everyone on our list before it takes effect rather than quietly updating this page.
