AI Receptionist for Law Firms: Costs and Payoff

Review tools that take careful intake details from new clients and send the right cases to you. This page is a short draft, not a finished guide.

A new-client call has to collect the right facts without giving legal advice or creating a conflict. An AI receptionist is a fit only if the questions match your intake and the notes land with the right person.

What to check before you buy

Intake questions

The script should collect the facts your new-client form already asks for, and stop where you tell it to stop.

Where the notes go

Confirm the summary reaches the right lawyer or intake desk, not a general inbox nobody checks.

What it will not say

Read the limits. It should not give legal advice, quote a fee you have not set, or promise that the firm will take the matter.

Measured results: law firms

No measured law-firm results have been published yet. Each new result will use the format below.

This row is a layout example only, not a real result. Payback = monthly cost ÷ (bookings × value per booking ÷ 30 days). The weekly post also records the setup fee, which is blank on this sample until a real invoice is attached.

Published prices

These are general-purpose plans copied from each vendor's public page. Law-firm-specific pricing is not listed until a vendor publishes it.

FAQ

How much does an AI receptionist cost?

Published plans in the price table start at $49 a month (Rosie) and go up to $500 a month and more for enterprise tiers (Smith.ai), depending on the vendor and call volume. Smith.ai also offers a free tier of 25 calls a month. Frontdesk lists $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually. Watch for per-minute or per-call overages, and confirm the current terms on the vendor page linked in the table.

Methodology: we copy pricing and features from each vendor's published materials and check them when we update this page. Measured results come from shared call logs. Full methodology.
